The Titians Attend the Galaxy Home Opener The Galaxy provided lots of fun pre-game festivities, including the "Futboleros" - street jugglers that display amazing ball juggling, ball control, and a ton of pure fun ball tricks. The Titans also got to participate in the halftime game. All 17 Titans were able to attend, and they all really enjoyed playing in front of 27,000 people on that incredible Galaxy field. But the highlight of the night ended up being the great seats. The Titans were in the 3rd and 4th row on the end-line between the goal and right corner flag. Being that David Beckham was playing right mid-fielder, the Titans had lots of up close views of him. In the first few minutes of the game, The Galaxy had a corner kick on the right side, and Beckham came walking right in front of the Titans to take the corner. Needless to say, the Titan players went crazy! And in the 9th minute of play, Redlands native Landon Donovan gave a perfect through ball to a streaking David Beckham, and Beckham went nut-meg (between the legs) on former team-mate goalie Joe Cannon. After the goal, Beckham came running straight to where the Titans were sitting and did his celebration slide about 15 feet away. The Titans and their families had a night they will never forget! |
