Tournament Champions!
B16 Xtreme

Finally!  Our B16 Xtreme team - based out of Riverside - has come close, so close, so many times before, and the breaks never seem to go they're way.  But playing in the Coyotes tournament this past weekend, they finally caught a break - and a big one at that.

Playing in the Gold bracket, first up for the Xtreme was Desert United.  This match started out slowly, but turned out to be a very good game in which Xtreme won 2-1.   But after waiting around for seven hours to play their next game, Xtreme just wasn't in the mood to play soccer, and it showed when they lost their second match, 2-1 to RCFC.

Losing to RCFC made it almost impossible to reach the finals, because usually one loss and you're out during these tournaments.  But not this tournament, not this weekend.  And sure enough, their 4-1 win over the host Coyotes in their third match Sunday morning was enough of a blow-out win to warrant a berth in the finals.

An all Xtreme finals at that.  Xtreme from Riverside playing against Xtreme from Huntington Beach.  But there was something odd about that Huntington Beach team, those guys are pretty big - really big.  When four or five U16 players have drivers licenses, something's up!

So the Corinthians Xtreme won 1-0 due to several ineligible players on the Huntington Beach squad.

Congratulations Xtreme, you earned it.
